“The moment I say I am a Yogi – I am not a Yogi.”
(Sri T Krishnamacharya)
In Yin Yoga the postures are practiced in a passive way to release any tension in the body and the mind. Up to ten minutes you stay in the asana/your seat to deepen your Yin side. This is the way to receive and to let go. According to Chinese philosophy freedom is only possible when Yin and Yang are in balance. In tradition of Taoistic wisdom Yoga theacher Paul Grilley developed the Yin Yoga practice.
This soft Yoga practice increases Yin, the restorative power in us and provides balance with our active power of Yang energy. Concentrating on slow and soft breathing you reach a meditative state by letting go of obstacles.
